Continuing Adult Deaf Education

CADE Programme

Our CADE Programme is designed to provide Deaf adults with comprehensive education, vocational training, and career guidance in a supportive and inclusive environment that affirms Deaf identity and culture.

At CCCD Jamaica, we recognize the unique challenges faced by Deaf adults in Jamaica. Our CADE Programme addresses what we call the real L.A.C.K. facing the Deaf community: Language deprivation, Attitude that doesn't affirm, Community that excludes, and Knowledge that is limited. Through our holistic approach, we aim to empower Deaf adults with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in their personal and professional lives.

  • Vocational Training. We offer certification courses in data operations, housekeeping, and commercial food preparation (CFP), providing practical skills that lead to employment opportunities.
  • Academic Education. Students can pursue Caribbean Secondary Education Certification (CSEC) in Mathematics, English, Social Studies, and Information Technology, along with literacy and numeracy readiness.
  • Career Support. We provide career readiness preparation, job coaching, work experience opportunities, and assistance with job placement to help our students transition successfully into the workforce.

Our programme is built on the foundation of enabling full language access through Jamaican Sign Language (JSL) and Written English, creating an affirming attitude towards Deaf identity, fostering an inclusive community, and empowering students with knowledge of Christ, their own identity, and their role in society.
